Our company has been using a consultancy company to do some team bonding at the big trouser end.

In June we had a talk from Mark Hunter of Olympic rowing fame. What he said was impressive and inspirational. We had a review yesterday and Mark came back to talk to us. He talked about his low point in the year, when he failed to win a medal at Lucern, and how he recovered from it. Part of his recovery was taking some time out and coaching Take That for their rowing video. Him mentioning that reminded me that I was out on Staines reach at the time and wondered what the fuss was about. Here it is:

p.s. Mark won the World Championship with his double partner Zak in New Zealand later this year

Seen the video a few times and recognised your reach, expected to see you loitering in the background:D

I wonder if they built special boats to take 5 rowers or if they were cgi, Take That's rowing is appalling in the vid so either Mr Hunters coaching wasn't very good or Take That should stick to singing.

Just watched the vid for the first time, and although I can't stand Take That, I did enjoy the vid for it's production & sheer preposterousness!

I was out with Gavi and a few others, we saw the film crew under the bridge and did what any right-minded river user would do - we totally ignored them, went about, and set a course for the pub :)

According to the Daily Mail today, the boats were specially made, the white one was sold on e-Bay to a German, and the other one is being used to teach children how to row.
