Hello,
I am bringing a boat from Bruinisse, Netherlands to Dover end of the month. I am looking for some routing advice please. I plan to bring the boat from Bruinisse to Roompotsluis near Roompot Marina on the West coast at the entrance to the sea. Then as we enter the sea I plan to go 5-10 miles offshore and head South West to parallel the coast (using waypoints to follow a route). One concern is the sandbanks from Oostende to Calais as there are lots of shallows which may make it very rough, any advice on this ? I plan to cross the channel and TSS at Calais to Dover. I could parallel the TSS but keeping well clear until we cross at 90 degrees at Calais. The Ruytingan bank is in my path with depths down to 4m in places which concerns me as to how this may play up with wind and tide.
Other option is to avoid the French coast and the sand banks, head West South West from Dutch Coast into the channel to cross TSS and come down on the UK side outside the TSS by Goodwin Sands.
Any advice on a good route would be appreciated. I am in a 35 foot HR352.
Thanks,
Al
