We're up at 4am to make the start at 6:15. Someone on this thread suggested that beer o'clock would be about at the end of the race....not on our boat. We've got Bacon butty o'clock at about 6:16, followed by gallons of tea o'clock at 6:17 and beer o'clock between 6:18 and mid-day, shortly followed by red wine o'clock. Very fortunately for us we also have our secret weapon Celia who is a cordon Bleu cook to help us intersperse the beer, furious sailing and food courses. Our goal is to finish, but if we beat our best ever position of 397th we'll be happy bunnies. Last year we had to end our race at Hurst point by switching the engine on to beat the tidal gate. Here's hoping this year is more fruitful.

Oh yes. We start at 6am, means a very early rise and shine but very much looking forward to it. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Keep an eye out for me. Blue rib with a large orange echo max radar reflector on it. I'll be around for the start and then down to watch the mayhem at the Needles. I'll be in Cowes for a 04.30 pick up. I've got Patrick Eden aboard so smile! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've just seen Patricks photos....! They are FAB. I'm on Emily V....you'll be able to spot me because I'm the unusually handsome one....[nodding annoyingly], but be quick, because we'll be at the front of our class! ;-)

We are up at about 0330 leaving Swanwick by 0400 for an 0540 start. Our new boat "Nereid" was only handed over to us today so it is going to be interesting - especially as our crew is unexpectedly down to three. .We are a white Elan 340 sail number GBR 1093L
