Yacht Akamas now arrived at Hartlepool. Seems to have been port hopping around the U.K. from the South Coast over the past week.

Assume a delivery crew would have done longer legs to get somewhere quickly. So is this a Round Britain cruise we can join vacariously?

It was mentioned here: Yacht rescue off Littlehampton. the owner appears to be a stalwart of RCYC, at least it gives something to watch on MarineTraffic.

Hopefully the skipper is not from the Royal Cornwall YC. Cornwall has (rightly) been very vocal telling people to adhere to the Covid “stay at home” rules, and not to come to Cornwall in their motorhomes, to their holiday homes, or just driving there for a visit. For a Cornwall sailor to harbour hop halfway round the country would be rather hypocritical.

The voyage clearly wasn’t a professional delivery trip (even if that could be in any way deemed “essential travel”, which seems very unlikely), as a delivery crew would have done longer legs and only stopped for diesel.

My guess - and it is just a guess - is it might in fact be a new private owner doing a delivery sail back to NE England. If so it would be clearly breaching Covid rules, as must have had a long “non-essential” travel down to Cornwall and/or back from wherever they finally stop. And plenty of harbour stops (not going direct or anchoring off).

Either way, they seem to have done a large chunk of a round Britain cruise, ignoring any of the Covid guidelines.
Many of us on here would love to be saIling, and many could get to and from their boats on foot and not go ashore anywhere. But, as far as I am aware, nobody on here has been selfish and arrogant enough to do so - believing it would be an affront to the NHS staff on the frontline.
I hope the skipper of Akamas, whoever it is, has a good explanation for their voyage round the country.

Odd that AIS transmission is so common. I've always thought, why would you let the world know where you are? Particularly if you are going up the shipping lanes off the Mull of Kyntyre (the always empty ones).

I'd love a sail, too, though. One boat not accessible but the other is 5 minutes away and afloat.
