rough gear selection on selva saildrive

Can anybody tell me how to dismantle my selva saildrive leg while still in situ on boat?
The problem is engaging forward or reverse, with no cable attach is very rough, compared to my other saildrive in the other hull.I would like to check the selector ect.
The boat is on the hard.

Thank's i have this manual also, and it looks as if i am going have to separate engine from saildrive.

Just a thought but have you tried rotating the box with the prop, it may just be the position it stopped in. As the top of the box would be spinning when the engine is running it will drop in better than when stopped if you get my drift.
