Does any of the forumites have installation instructions for a Rotostay II jib furler.
I have just rigged mine for the first time since I bought the boat and am not convinced that I have run the furling halyard correctly.
I have tried to contact the company but "silence has been the loud" reply so far. I assume they do have an active customer support deptartment or do I have to ring them.
Also, I would like to know what the correct size rope I should be using for this job.
Thanks for any advice

You may not be aware that Rotostay are now run by XW Rigging
I cant remember which version is the MkII, is that the one which has the halyard for the genoa passed through the swivel at the top of the foil and secured back down to the drum at the bottom of the foil?

If so I can help.

Hi
Got one of these. The Halyard goes to a floating swivel on the foil, the diameter is whatever it needs to be depending on boat size rope handling and strength typically 8-10mm for a 30-34 footer.
Let me know if you need to know more
Bill

You mean the furling line?

10mm. Make sure the end you will attach to the drum has been cut off neatly with a hot knife.

Work out which way the drum works for furling and unfurling.

Thread the end from the appropriate direction onto the drum.

DOWN through the first hole (passing to the outside lower edge).

Then along to and UP through the second hole.

Have no more than the very tip of the line showing through the hole to the inside of the drum.

Whilst only a basic interference fit, and reliant on the inherent friction on the path of the line, this is incredibly secure, mine has never come adrift (except the time I removed it to change the line).

Om the odd time over the years I have picked the phone up to Ian Cochran of XW Rigging (who purchased Rotomarine) he has always been both available and helpful.

Thanks Andy_Wilson for that info.
So you say that there is no need for a stopper knot at the end of the furling line as it comes up through the bottom disc through the second hole ??
How many turns of line on the drum do you need when the jib is fully wound onto the foil ??
Also, what is the purpose of the slots on the top and bottom discs ??
Thanks to all the other repondents.
