1976 vintage. I dropped the furling drum overboard today. Someone please tell me that Rotostay will have a spare. I need some good news /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif !

I would try and buy a 2nd hand one. Plenty of people will be replacing their system this winter. Ask around at boatyards or rigging firms. Can you not fish it out??

Didnt know that about Rotormarine but it looks athough XW is at Gosport anyway.

Fishing out is a possibility but went over in 5m of water running at 3-4kts and its darned cold. No you are right, it is possible and when Im feeling brave enough .........., I have to go and see XW anyway for a new lower bearing, just hoping they have an old drum lying around .....fingers crossed !

Also, unusually (I think), Rotostay offer a part exchange probably as a way of furnishing older spares, so again, fingers crossed ...........

Current bid: £22.17 a new one would be cheaper I think

You must be joking, they charge that for a pack of new nylon ball bearings in the swivel.

I was quoted over £700 for then to refurbish my Rotostay II system.................... I now have Sailspar /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
