Does anyone have information about the developments at the inner harbour and its attendant effects on berthing inside the pier area.

Mrs Dougie and I have not made it down to Scotland's Madeira so far this year but are hoping to set off on Wednesday. The Bute web-sites are a waste of time in terms of giving any information about the works.

Was in RH last friday night (13th). Inner harbour is dammed and large dredging operation setup in there. I am not sure if some of the wave damping stuff near the entrance has been removed (it was windy last friday , but we had a really disturbed night on the harbour pontoon). Also heard from one of our crew who had been a few weeks earlier that they were running the dredging 24 hours then, and it was noisy and dirty on the harbour pontoon. Call up the harbour master before going to find out what will be happening when you are there??

Pontoons! In Rothesay! What is the world coming too!

We kept our boat in the inner harbour there for years tied to the central quay. Only problem was clearing all the chip papers, beer cans & fag packets out at the start of every trip.

If we'd wanted marina pontoons we'd have gone to Rhu or Largs or similar!
