Heard on London VTS about 21.19 tonight:
Rosie & Jim run aground on the sandbar up stream of Eel Pie Island on the Surrey bank, now waiting water to refloat !!!!!!!

That sandbars a killer .....

Everytime i go past it , i watch the echo sounder counting down , it's frighteningly shallow even quite a way out ....

Presumably if they were heading upstream , they would have been doing so on an incoming tide , so i wonder what the story is there , that they couldn't get off ?

Oh well ....
