Roscoff - I'm there for the next few days

Looks as if Market day in Morlaix is Saturday it's worth a visit in Play d'Eau or by bus an interesting town if your still in the area.

Hi Piers,

not sure if you use digimap.gg/marinas but maybe worth forwarding your findings for inclusion.

Thanks for info and time to share.

Thanks Piers a good entry on Roscoff Bloscon marina. Forward to Colin at Digimap.gg.

Brittany intend to build 10,000 marina berths in 10 years see Brest LeChateau, St Cast, Roscoffand others.

It's good for employment, the town , attracting, boat owners passing and local, restaurants, housing etc , etc, etc.

All are municipal marinas run on low margins not the extortionate UK private sector ones, why can't the UK see the benefit and have a drive to develop municipal Marinas in the same way.

Sorry rant over!

Thanks for the suggestion - good idea. Details will be sent to digimap as suggested.

I can't stop saying how great a marina this is turning into. It's as though they've listened to many boaters and created something to overcome all issues. A joy to be there.

Interestingly, the Mayor's 'free bus from the marina to the town' had just ended. It was running to the end of August. Mind you, the walking did us good - and it's an interesting walk. Different small unpaved paths can be taken and explored.

Just arrived at Treguier and I find they've added a whole new pontoon with a BIG hammerhead making Play d'eau look small. We arrived yesterday evening in the rain but will investigate what's been done to the marina and post another report.

I can't remember if you have been to st cast another well thought out marina, if so look at my restaurant suggestions for Ker Flor and at St Quau Portrieux Le Tartan.

Bus , you have room for bicycles or Harley's on your boat.

St Quay has upped their game with fast wifi and good service.

Am told to beware of the strong tides at the new port in Roscoff, can be difficult to berth during spring tides. Also, regarding the previous response to the morlaix market, it is not on wednesdays, but on saturdays, have been there many times! For useful info, i have found http://yachtcarebrittany.com/7.html to be helpful, lock times for morlaix, and alot of info on this site for both roscoff and morlaix ports including a bit of helpful travel information. I missed play d`eau what a shame!
