rope thickness, this should be a no brainer ...

i recently ordered 30m on line what i received was significantly thicker than i asked for and did not go through one of the fair leads, so


Genoa sheets, what i have, 10 years old, under a bit of tension measures 13mm diameter

its quite rough to touch, excellent

so, if it is now 13mm what was it to start with as i recon it will come in even steps 12 or 14 mm ?

i will want an eye spliced in

10 > 12m/m braid on braid ( matt) is the type / size i would have used

If it is now 13mm I assume it started at 14mm, which I think is what I have. I use shiny stuff because it passes round the shroud rollers more easily but matt is traditional.

tnx, never considered matt, sounds like what i have which is excelent

my shrouds a little way out, like 3.2m away from the mast so not an issue.

I always use the thickness that the cleates can handle, one turn and one s turn over the cleat.
