Previous threads have questioned the effectiveness of a rope cutter

There we were gently leaving the marina berth in Mallorca when our forward progress was momentarily arrested and there was a disconcerting clunking sound from below. People on the quay shouted that we had caught a mooring/bow line. Suddenly we were free again. When we got out of the marina into some clear water I snorkled to see if the propellor was ok. I found a 1/2 metre length of bow line on one of the blades and a few other fragements of rope. As you can see from the photo, the line that we cut was quite substantial and is probably 40mm. I took the photos after we returned for the next evening.
We have an Ambassador Marine 3 blade "Stripper"

Yes, we also have an Ambassador 2 blade stripper and it worked a few weeks ago - my genoa sheet is 6 feet shorter! Stopped the engine though, but it was idling and my wife was going in a circle while I prepared everything for picking up a mooring and failed to notice a sheet had slipped overboard.
