Got one jamming in the mast groove.

I think the T piece in the mast groove (which I assume is screwed to car that sits on front of mast) has come unscrewed.

May be repairable but can anyone advise who supplied ronstan cars in UK please?

Mast is Sparcraft profile F580 on a 43' Jeanneau anyone know the catalogue number for the Rinstan batten car?

Thanks for responses.

Now taken the sail off the Ronstan cars - would be one near the top!! Took out mast gate and slid out cars.

On the back of the car is two circular plastic type washers secured by a steel washer and countersunk screw. This forms a "T" with the car and runs up the mast groove.

The screw has come loose (10yrs use!)allowing the car to twist out one end and screw jammed in mast groove so that sail could not be raised.

Tightened screw back in and checked others but it was the only one - problem solved at no cost just 4hrs effort.

Hopefully this thread may help others if they get same problem.

A screw came loose in a new sail/car setup and damaged the entire car (maybe 4 years ago). £100 to replace that car, I think. I always check they are tightened now when sail is bent on.
