As per posts passim, this week I've been servicing my gib sheet winches, the pawls of the port side one having stuck so that it rotated freely.
On this model of winch, one particular roller bearing seems to live an especially hard life - on one side it appeared a bit skew-whiff, but serviceable until I can get a replacement, the other fell apart into pieces as I withdrew the mainshaft.
I guess I must describe this as the upper mainshaft bearing, marked on the below diagram:
The bearings's components:
I believe Barient winches originated in America, and mine feature 1/4" and 3/16" AF allen fasteners. Dimensions seem to be in inches, rather than mm - e.g. the mainshaft is 25.4mm diameter, and the thickness / height of the bearing is 0.7" (17.77mm).
The individual rollers appear to be 0.55" / 14mm in length, measured at the shoulder (and excluding the length of the pin), and 0.156" / 3.96mm in diameter.
Questions:
I'm always grateful for the excellent advice I receive here.

Questions:
- Is this a replacement part I can only get from the (now defunct) manufacturer, or is it a standard part I can get from any bearing specialist?
- What are my chances of getting one from the local motor factors? In France?
- How exactly should I describe what I'm looking for, please?
I'm always grateful for the excellent advice I receive here.
