A friend of mine is buying a Rodman 800. He has asked me to accompany him on delivery from Felixstowe to Poole. I'd be interested to "chat" with owners of such vessels. The boat has twin Yanmar 200 hp's on shafts Also any "local knowledge" relevant to the area which would be useful in putting together the passage plan would also be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

guessing Felixstowe to Brighton part is issue, as the rest you should be able to do blindfolded. Put a PM into Mirelle, though even Oldgit should be able to help out as you're not on a Sealine

Not a bad boat. At least you will be sat in the warm all the way drinking cups of tea.

Now David,

are you sure about this, it has 2 engines, not the one you are used to, do you think you will be able to handle it, twice the power and a big difference in handling , and you will be inside, ............................................. !!!

can you handle this?????????????????

Oh I think so! Two engines are easier than one, as you've found out! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Still, I can always give you a ring if I need talking in - after all you owe me one! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Rodmans are good sea boats. You wont have any probs providing you miss the sticky-up sandy bits between Felixstowe and Dover

Now let me see! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Now then - there was a certain lady on an Advanced Powerboat course that I was running not so long ago that had a bit of trouble with that - now who could that have been I wonder?????

Still, I did OK on my recent YM course, OK, so I got the instructor changed after two days, but that was only because he was very poor. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks Mike - not worried about the boat. Just need any "local knowledge" input. Those little things that only those who boat regularly around that area have come to know. As has been mentioned that trip down from Brighton is my "home" area so that's not an issue.
