Nice to see so many boats round a RCC over the weekend, about 50 or so.
Sorry about the weather. Really impressed by that Elling. :)
Our sortie to Maidstone was blessed with a bit of sunshine apart from the hail storm that followed us up from Rochester and then let go as we entered the lock chamber .
Lockeeper Steve was as resolute as ever dripping away in his oiles.
Booked a table the floating restuarant outside the Bishops Palace in Maidstone ,not cheap but the nicest steak for long time.Overnighted in town centre as normal. Not to bad when traffic noise fades away in the late evening.
Highlight of the trip was visit to Poundland to replace all the carp bought on my last visit which broke 10 mins after buying it.
The do some very good balloons which make great farting noise as they deflate.
Nothing is too good for the grandkids.
Noticably more narrowboats and mini barge type vessels above the lock on this trip !
The new bridge at Wouldham is nearly completed.
The floods may (or may not )have scoured some of the riverbed around New Hythe, depth alarm was not going off in places it usually does.

Glad you had a good trip, sounds a bit less eventful than the last one!
All the visitors at RCC seemed to have enjoyed their stay and the hospitality, the bar staff looked absolutely frazzled by Sunday but I'm sure their efforts were very much appreciated.
