Just had email from St Kats.
They are unable to accommodate us over Bank Holiday of 2nd to 5th May ,as Oyster Yachts have an event there at that time.:(
Trying to find out when they can get us in. OG.

That's a shame.
Really wasn't looking forward to the lock, but was looking forward to the trip.
Assuming, of course, that ol' faithful is still running by then...

And they were unable to tell you this when you visited recently? Speechless!!!
Either they are even more inefficient than we had suspected or - heaven forbid - big money has ensured favoured treatment over mere boat owners.

They may think they are being clever in the marina, but many visiting Yachts spend a hell of a lot locally, when there (we certainly did). There are restaurants & shops closing down at the moment, could this be due to lack of visitors like us. When there last year, we had loads of visitors & spent a good few bob entertaining during the week, at least 3k I believe. Still, they seem to think they know best. We were seriously considering buying a larger boat (IRO seven figures) & mooring it there for most of the year, but have decided to return to plan 'A' of buying a property in London instead, due to the attitude encountered. It almost seems that a nice brown envelope is required, but I never have & never will go there !!!!!!!

Have no doubt at all that the marina is now part of some vast offshore secretive corporate portfolio, probably owned by some Russian outfit and financed with a middle eastern loan.
This will require a hefty return on the borrowed capital .

Oyster Yachts will provide a bigger contribution towards somebodies new helicopter than half a dozen ancient gin palaces.:)
