I am interested in tracing a 39ft wooden bermudian sloop called Right Royal. She was built by Thornycroft in 1951 for the Royal Engineers Yacht Club, and is the sister ship to my own boat Joliette. She was last listed in Lloyds in 1980: home port Plymouth with an owner in Mosman, N.S.W Australia.

If anyone can tell me anything about her subsequent history or whereabout then I would be most interested in hearing from you.

can't help on that boat but if she's anything like the 40ft robert clark boat i came across the channel in last week she's a good piece of kit. 35 knots of wind on the beam and going like a train!

Yes, she'll certainly be 'a good piece of kit' as you say! ... I had just over 9 knots out of Joliette (37ft) when I crossed the Channel a few months ago, in a Force 4 - 5. Robert Clark designed some terrific boats and many of them are still sailing well. I really ought to organise a "Clark Club" event or something?!

Heavenly to sail. My parents have a 33 footer. Brought up sailing her. They have owned her since 1972.
