There is a failure with our Roberson hydraulic linear drive HDL2000 pilot/J3000 Junction Unit/Dataline Databox. It's about 20 years old and has been excellent .
Now it has a clutch circuit overload failure warning. A local electronics firm here in Croatia has checked the clutch/bypass coil resistance for short circuit as advised in the manual but found no fault. In our marina berth with no rudder action needed the warning does not appear until a course change entry is entered.
Can anyone please advise on what action is needed? We will be returning to Devon in about a weeks time and can if necessary dismantle and bring the equipment with us.

I would bring both ram and computer with me. The ram is a really good piece of kit but after 20 years it would benefit from new sealsc etc, a diy job The diagnosis of the alarm is a specialist job but my suspicion would be wiring first and the computer second. The latter is getting on a bit. Mine keep giving data failures but is immediately ok if rebooted..

Thanks for your input. By "reboot" do you mean switch off then back on - which in my case doesn't help. I cannot find any wiring fault either.
