Roadside Assistance - boat & trailer

RAC are good, we pay 50 odd quid which covers all the cars, caravan and boats on trailers plus any car we might be in or driving.Make sure you specify towing though.Very quick to turn up but they obviously couldnt fix boat wheel bearing on the side of m4.

I must admit the only organisation I would never never use again is the RAC. Twice I needed their services and twice they let me down badly. They will never get a third chance.

I agree with the principle of 'you never get a second chance to make a first impression', however.....

Not long ago My Little Lady came home from a fractious day schoolteaching and Parent Evening-ing. It was raining hard, blowing, and dark. Now, we drive past our house on a private drive, turn round in a field gateway, and come back down to our 'ouse to park. She got stuck reversing up into the gateway, with one drivewheel and one front wheel off the ground! No, I don't know either.

Try as I might, I couldn't jack it up and release it - in the rain - without tearing off the front skirt on the driveway tarmac, so I chocked and locked and left it. The following morning, after dropping her at school, I called the RAC. Their guy was with me within an hour and, despite the car being no more than 70 yards from home, he 'resolved' the problem using better kit than I had. A mug of coffee and some biscuits later, he was on his cheerful way.

So it's often down to the 'operative'.... :)

In my case it was not the 'operative' but 'company policy', the first instance was almost bearable but the second was not, never again will I take the chance, especially when there are other organisations that seem to manage life better. I am sure most of the time they are great but .....

Another +1 for Brittania. Never had to wait more than an hour - usually less than half that. (Been with them a long time!). They are pretty accurate on their 'wait' time when they ring - i.e. if they say an hour, it will be an hour, not an hour and a half, and yes they cover trailers and caravans.
