Can anyone suggest a good (e.g. reliable & reasonable cost) transport company to transport a boat (Length 8.60m X 2.98m beam & 4000kg)from the Solent to Port Leucarte nr Perpignan.
Dates fairly flexable but ideally later in June.

a friend of mine used a company to bring his moody 42 back from port leucate a few mths ago, they were really good and helpfully.

we brought the boat over from PORT D'ANDRATX on palma and ended up sailing to palamos. he came down to spain and got the boat, brought her back to burnham so yeh he was really helpfull.

the guys name is terry holiten (spelling probably wrong there)

Hi
We used Van de Wetering.
web page
They are Dutch and will transport from most of the Med or Adriatic to the North Sea or Channel areas. We used them to go from Port Napoleon (near Port St Louis Rhone) to Breskens on the Westerschelde last September. They are very competitive as they do loads of trips both ways.
Whoever you use, I would seriously suggest you avoid the huge costs of a truck with your boat on it going on a cross channel ferry. It's far cheaper to get to the other side of the channel and be picked up there.
Hope it all goes well.

A few years ago I used these people. I took my boat to Cherbourg and they arranged the lift and transport to St. Cyprien. Much cheaper to take it across the Channel yourself. They were very good and reasonable.
