Does anyone know the weight of the RM trailers for the small Beneteau First 211s? RM are not answering the phone today and I have a long journey planned over the weekend. The car I was planning to pull with has a towing capacity of 1400kg so need to plan an alternative quickly.

It would be great if someone knew the dead weight of a first 211 as well? Is is the same as the displacement figue given in the blurb???

Its difficult to give you an exact answer without knowing the model of trailer. However the First 211 has a dry weight of about 1100kg, with cruising gear, anchor etc its going to be nearer 1500kg. You will need a trailer with this capacity which will weigh a further 400kg. Total towing weight likely to be 1900-2000kg.Thats for a safe set up with plenty of scope for extra items carried.

Its possible the trailer and rig are a bare bones type setup. Weight of boat 1100kg dry and a trailer with a 1500kg capacity weighing 300kg, total towing weight 1400kg.

Its impossible to give more accurate info without knowing the model of trailer. But either way you are going to be very near or over your cars towing limit, which gives all sorts of problems with the law and insurance.

I have towed an overweight trailer before, but its not something I enjoy doing.
