RL80C - Software REinstall

First post here...thanks for the wealth of information that exists here. I'm hoping that someone has been through this and can help.

I need to RE-install the software on my RL80C. This is according to Raymarine. They are telling me I have to send it in to do this. Is this the case? Is there no way to do this via the chart card slot?

Depends on the firmware status, i.e. whether whatever is corrupted will allow it to read and store from the card slot or not. Even then you would have to get an appropriately loaded card and Raymarine are reluctant to even supply dealers with them. So the answer is send it back.
