RL80 NMEA out question

Working on a friend's boat.
Does anyone know what senrences are sent on the NMEA 0183 output channel of an RL80 Plotter.
It seems to only handle GPS sentences
Is thag correct?

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/314117/Raymarine-Rl70c.html?page=194#

The short answer is yes:-

Info such as lat/long, bearing and distance to waypoint, waypoint location, autopilot instructions, course and speed over ground, satellites received and date/time (not necessarily in that order but you get the picture)

Thanks everyone
A friend of mine has a couple of RL80s
He added a Digital Yacht AIT 3000 which works well.
He uses his iPhone all the time and the AIT 3000 sends AIS and GPS position data to the iPhone with Navionics charts.
Works well for him but the app he is using on the iPhone also displays wind and depth etc info if available.
All the data is available on the old Seatalk 1 bus but it seems that the RL80 doesn't transfer it to the RL80's NMEA (0183) out.
Yep - looking at the manual and the above posts, this does seem to be the case.
Strange that the RL80 had a setup display where you can switch all the NMEA sentences on and off for the output NMEA channel.
But it just doesn't handle all the sentences in the list.

So, it seems that my friend will have to install a Seatalk 1 to NMEA interface - there are a few options about.

Anyway, thanks to those who posted.

M, are you sure that both his monitors are RL80?
I'm asking because I've got the same series of instruments on the DP (two in the p/h and one on the f/b), and I'm sure that the RL80 alone doesn't have cards slots, and can only display charts as a slave, when connected to a plotter via seatalk.
In fact, one of the two screens in my p/h is identical to the RL80, but is labelled as L1260, and has the card slots where the RL80 only has a plastic cover.
I half recall that the manual mentions also an RL80CRC, which is yet another version capable of working both as a radar and a chartplotter (my L1260 can only show the radar as a slave of the RL80).
Anyway, I'm saying this because maybe the page where you can turn on or off each NMEA sentence only works in an instrument which has its own plotter capability (i.e. L1260 or RL80CRC, but not the RL80 which is meant only as a radar).
Just a thought...
Glad to make some tests on my instruments if that helps, but only till the late morning of tomorrow, because I'm onboard ATM but will drive back home around lunchtime tomorrow.

My friend owns a Lagoon catamaran with a flybridge so there is one display on the f/b and another on the lower helm.
I'm fairly sure that the lower one was an RL80C but I didn't check the upper one.
Someone may be able to correct me but this is what I think.
I seem to remember that there were two generations of this Raymarine kit.
Initially, all the displays were independent.
They then brought out their HSB2 technology that allowed you to connect multiple (4 I think) displays together.
My friend's kit definitely has the special fat connector that joins his two displays
His lower helm one also has the radar wire so that one must be the master and he did say that the charts are available on both displays.
He doesn't use the charts - in fact, he only uses the RL80s for radar and, as you know, out in the Med we don't really use radar anyway.

The best bit of nav kit that he has in the new Digital Yacht AIT3000 which sends data to his iPhone where he does all his nav.
To complete his system, he would like to add the ship's depth, wind and speed through the water etc sentences to the AIT3000.

I don't think any of this changes the fact that the RL80 only outputs position sentences even though there is a setup menu that implies otherwise.

Yup, I also understood that during the life of these units there was an upgrade from HSB to HSB2 at some point in time.
Fwiw, my 2004 vintage units are based on the latter.

My doubt is about the following point...
His lower helm one also has the radar wire so that one must be the master and he did say that the charts are available on both displays.
He doesn't use the charts - in fact, he only uses the RL80s for radar and, as you know, out in the Med we don't really use radar anyway.
...because my understanding is that RL80C is a radar-only unit, which can work as a master in this respect, but is only able to handle charts as a slave, provided that it's networked to an RL80CRC (radar and plotter) or a L1260 (plotter and sounder).
Btw, you gotta love the clarity of Raymarine unit names, dontcha...?
Anyway, that's the reason why I was wondering if the other unit was possibly sending some other NMEA sentences which you found not working on the one you tried...

PS: coming to think of it, I don't think there's a lot I could test for you on my units, because ATM I have no way to check which sentences are sent by which unit (all three are just networked together, and with a/p and tridata small screens, via seatalk)
That AIT3000 thing sounds interesting, though. Maybe worth a specific 3d?
