Both versions of the free guide to all leisure activity on the River Thames (tidal and non-tidal) and Way Navigation (River Thames Guide and River Thames Guide Lite) have been updated with the first iOS/iPadOS 26 version ready to roll out.

Changes include:
Added What3Words locators to Where Am I popup
tap the Find Me icon (top left of map)
popup shows where you are (with accuracy measure)
and offers button to look up What3Words locators

Added portage for Mapledurham lock

Fixed issue where some portage maps not fully visible
on older devices

Users of iOS (iPhone) and iPadOS (iPad) will receive the update via the App Store as usual.
Users of other platforms (including, inter alia, Mac, Windows, Android, Chrome and Unix-based systems) can use the single PWA* version which can be found here; (for installation best to follow the link in the Chrome browser). New users wishing to install the app on an iPhone or iPad just need to search 'River Thames Guide' on the App Store (where the difference between the two versions will become clear).

All versions of the app continue to be free to download and use and are delivered without any ads.

As ever, feedback and suggestions welcome (go to About/Feedback).

*PWA is the acronym for Progressive Web App and, in simple terms, refers to a web site that can be used like any other site (follow a saved URL for example) or can installed as an app on your device if you wish.
