This was not actual rescue but a planned exercise involving Fire and Rescue, Police, Ambulance, EA and RAF. No doubt prompted by the incident at Shiplake Weir.
The joint exercise involved rescuing 8 people in the water near the weir by various means including winching a dummy up to the RAF Seaking helecopter.
It all looked to be very successful and a great free entertainment for those looking on. It was good to see the co-operation and efficiency of the whole operation.
