The Fareham Sailing Club is wishing to expand membership and has river trot moorings at Fareham Creek available to members. These are very sheltered, all year around creek moorings close to the Clubhouse and Fareham Town. There are also pontoon moorings but there is a waiting list for those.
A lovely spot albeit 5 miles upstream from Portsmouth Harbour entrance.
See Fareham Sailing and Motorboat Club
This is a particularly friendly club catering for MOBOers, fishermen, yachts cruising and racing, lugger racing and with a good clubhouse/bar and a full (in normal times) social calendar.

Get yourself a particularly savage guard dog to leave in the cockpit when you're away! I used to keep a boat on a mooring down off Hardway and heard no end of stories in the sailing club about boats up the creek getting broken into. Never had any problems myself though.

Yes security is a concern wherever you are but I had a mooring there for 4 years and there were no break ins or damage on the moorings during that time. However the moored boat are quite close to the PME Pontoons and the club high up , the bank in the middle and the club pontoon at the top so fairly visible. They are good all year round moorings and cheap (£150 - 250), albeit depending on club membership which also invoves a couple of 4 hour "duty" sessions working the bar or helping with maintenane etc.

Hi - we're currently moored at Wicor, so thought I'd have a look at your website. I see mooring charges are
Moorings
Fareham Creek (fore & Aft)..From £172.00 to £247.00
Salterns Pontoon (Inner)................£711.00
Salterns Pontoon (Outer)...............£835.00
.. which is pretty good! How do members deal with winter? Can boats be lifted out?
Thanks
Steve

Talk to the POG Mooring team - they are having trouble with access through the Standard Aero site to their Heavy Reach mooring pontoons.

There might be some milage in a co-operation using your site. There are free pontoon moorings there, due to the access situation.

You never know......................................... ?

Many of the club boats stay on the pontoon or moorings all winter and just have a quick lift out to antifoul/change anodes. The hard in the little harbour at Fareham has a couple of scrubbing posts and many antifoul there or against the wall. The club does not have a yard or space for a club communal craning out so all lift outs have to be at commercial boatyards. PME lift out, Fairweather Marine lift into their large car park over winter, many club menmbers use Trafalgar Marine and lots of others as you will be aware.

Portsmouth Ofshore Group, part of the Civil Service Sailing Association.

Sorry - I thought everyone knew about POG.

Based at the end of Weevil Lane Gosport. where they have a 90 boat Marina next to Royal Clarence. They have other moorings in the area as well as the Wicor/Heavy Reach ones.

You should find their contact details on the internet.

Good Luck.
