The boat safety scheme will come into force next April.

Purely for any vessel permanently moored above Allington.Basically any enclosed boat must have BSS.
Same rules and regs that have been in force elsewhere for years and hopefully no more dumping of raw sewage directly into the river ?

Relying on boaters sence of fair play

H,mm.... fairly sureish ? that on the the Thames you have to have either a holding tank or some sort of porta pottie in order to get ticket.
Sea toilet are sealed ?
However presumably that does not prevent naughty folks empyting holding tank or pottie into river at night.:(

Doesn't apply on the anglian region
Only applies on the Thames because there was a lot more traffic there when the legislation was brought in.
They are trying to change the rules for the anglian region but EA recognise that there are many boats that will have to change ski its a slow process

If the Great Ouse is anything to go by wont make the slightest difference
We have BSS and sea toilets on the Ouse

Wouldn't want to use my boat on a river that is full of everyone elses effluent.
I'll stick to the Thames.:D
If the BSS is enforced properly, it can only be a good thing for all of us.
