River levels low around Oxford

RCR have reported that they have had to refloat a number of boats around the Kings Lock area near oxford over the last few days due to them running aground in shallow water

The levels here at Ashmount have been marginally lower than normal summer levels for quite a few days now.

Went through Chertsey lock yesterday and noticed it was a bit lower than normal summer level. Apart from the little waterfall bit by Penton Hook lock there was absolutely nothing coming over either of the weirs there.

We moored at Kings lock yesterday and had no problems with levels at all up to here,A fella in a big hired elecy boat did whilst entertaining a very attractive young lady with an evening cruise up the river with wine and nibbles aboard when he went aground turning round in the tail of the weir pool......a very funny John Cleese lose the plot moment followed after he stripped to his underpants vaulted over the side and found it was stuck fast as the cub scouts doing there kayak thing in the pool took the micky.....he eventually got her free by bouncing on the bow til she shook loose....bet that was the nonly thing he was bouncing on after his temper tantrum lol .
Moored just above Pinkhill now and levels fine if the flow is a little slow Steve
