I believe it is the 'Most Expensive Marine Place in the UK'. There are lots of dealers and service places though but you pay top whack. For ease of use it is A1!

We're in Mercury, very happy there and convenient for home and the motorways. Agree about the services and cost, but the further up the river it does become slightly less expensive.
All in all, a nice place to be if you can afford it.

We were berthed up the top end past Burseldon bridge where the raggies cant get past. It's a lovely spot to visit further on up river on high tide.
Plenty of services on the Hamble but we moved to Southampton because I got fed up of the 40 mins slow haul up the river back to the berth. Also it's very tidal up the top end. Good practice for a beginner in those strong streams but I prefer the non-moving water where I am now.
