I love my Rival 32, and have a north Atlantic circuit behind me, but I have yet to find a more uncomfortably designed cockpit for a cruising boat. Yes I know they were raced

I would say the Rival 38 must be similarly uncomfortable. I have had the displeasure of sitting in one when invited onboard for drinks. Surprising for a boat with such a good reputation

I had a Rival 34 for 11 years and loved it. I thought uncomfortable cockpit seating was to be expected in most boats of that era, as was the absence of most of the creature comforts we now take for granted aboard: hot and cold pressurised water, fridge... We did have heating though
