RIP Ian Anderson

Just had this sad email regarding the passing of Ian Anderson who designed many of the Hurley line.


Dear members.
Sadly, I have to report the death of our President, Ian Anderson, on Monday afternoon, in the hospice at Exeter. Ian had been suffering from a prolonged period of cancer. Just two weeks ago some of us were able to meet Ian in the hospice, on our way to the AGM in Plymouth. At that time he was very lucid and we had a lively conversation about boats and he passed his best wishes to the meeting.

I am in touch with Ian's family and will ensure that the respects and condolences of HOA members are paid in an appropriate manner.

Thanks for posting that. I live on board a 24/70 and it was clearly a bold design by a person not a commitee and I haven 't managed to break it yet,RIP.

Sad news, didn't he do the Anderson 30 too ? a 30' fin and skeg design, no relation to A22's & 26's.

A friend used to rent his Dartmouth house.

Think he designed the Seastream 34 and 43 too

I think that was Ian Hannay, not Anderson.
