Rio 36 Art

Wow,

At last we get a European development of a standard 35/36ft designed boat.

Externally I am not in love, but it is not offensive. Seems they have kept curves and swoops. The Cockpit is an S47! I like the design. The sunpad next to the helm is great for med sun, especially if you have younger kids as you can keep an eye on them and I love the open rear with the L shape seating. A couple of directors chairs and you have a great entertaining space. Not sure about the bright red..I think the Bene Montecarlos get the red right..this is a bit urgh!!

Inside I am very impressed. The seating area is great with the L shape seating and the TV. The rear cabin looks awesome as a master or guest and has it's own head. The front cabin is great as well. Well done Rio! My only issue is that I need a twin rear cabin and wonder if they will make the rear cabin bed a 'split bed' with an infil?

Overall I think they have done really well....and given Cranchi screwed up the Z36 this may become the European 36ft market leader.

What is Rio build qulaity like now. I know in 2001 I looked at one and it reminded me of a bayliner...functional but cheap!

Rio unlike Cranchi are very customable, my marina neighbour and friend of myn has a 44 Art bought new in 2006 and he change the helm chair, modified the dash and the interior table all cherry instead of the cherry and glass standard, he also change the parquet cherry floor to a darker tonality build quality is good I went out with him a few times and one was in Force 5 NE with 3 metres short pot holes, and the boat behaved well doing 18/20 knots
the col of the 44 is champagne goldishbeige of the 44, he coud make it white or blue if he wanted but also green
so I am sure if you dont like the red, you can make it blue or any color you want

ah I remember the engine issue which for the 44 was Cummins 440 or 480hp but my friend wanted Yanmar and they made him happy too
