after the incredible 36 Art presented in Genoa 2008, Rio raises its bars by offering its hard top version presented here during Naples Nauticsud show
this keeps all the distinct features of the Air full beam owner cabin, a lot of space outside and adds a movebale hardtop for all year use
the price is also not bad starting from 230.000 EUROS
I think Rio have a winning model in there hands with this...

It looks quite nice, certainly better than the smaller Rios we had here for a short time a few years ago.

Still looks like a bit of an amateur effort when compared to the main stream stuff (other IT yards and EU competitors).

I think it will need to be 30% cheaper than the established competition to stand a chance, and right now (here anyway) the euro is going to screw that. Sealine SC35 not only looks better, is cheaper, so is Targa 38. OK, no hard top on that boat, but imho a better looking craft from an established builder.

hey Jez
I dont agree that is amateur compared to other boats
the hard top for this boat make much sense and IMO it looks very good, the cockpit with its free space is a joy to be in, and I say this by experience of using boats a lot
now if one prefare a Sealine SC35 and Targa38 thats another story, I agree that on photos only on the looks department they look a bit better but it has so much more the Rio that you could forget all this
for the £ vs EU we wait and see and I am sure it want stay this way for ever
also with its moving hydraulic the hardtop makes its use aft which makes sense as many similar HT boats just cover the helmsman and the forward l-shaped settee
you also have a full beam cabin and two heads, I dont know of any 36 footer who give this...
I think this boats shakes the category for its planning and thats important to improve and move forward
but then it seems that unless a SeaFairPincline do not propose a full beam cabin on a similar sized boat it is no wow factor for you over there....
then when this happens in 10 years times I want to hear the guns blazing, about the originality for the UK builder who managed to do this...
