Right own up you lot!!!!!!

Funnily enough that is exactly what I was thinking Julie. I remember all the discussions a year ago with many of us showing signs of cabin fever. All changed as soon as our seasons started.

Just received my anti-foul this morning so spring must be just arround the corner

Cameron

We have our own cruise planned for July, either Channel Isles or down the West Country (or both) depends on the wind direction. But before that, as I was planning with my buddy last night, we have to deliver his boat to Cork in June for the family to join him for their hols'.

Bugger it I promised not to wish my life away! Sod it so long as it includes lots of sailing, who cares!!!!!

SWMBO thinks its an obcession and unhealthy . Mind you I am as happy as Larry with some gizmo/engine disassembled, bits lying all around , oil all over the place and dangling from my toenails inside a locker or similar so iI'm not complaining.

PS time I was booking the cheap flights . Got a 40 boat international race in Croatia in May for the EEC cup and then 5- 6 months of cruising

but I havent stopped sailing this winter, I have been out most weekend since Octobe racing and cruising. Its the weather that gets me down, this time last year I was brown as a berry and flitting back and forth between here and Caribbean and when I think of that I get P****d off.....as I know several of my friends do!

I confess: I have a boating habit.

The highs /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif - then the lows when you can't get it /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I describe it to non-boaties as like a cocaine habit , but more expensive! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I am too. I have been down to CM today, and fiddled with the battery mountings, which I am supposed to sort out. Thing is, they are VERY heavy (the batteries, that is), so I ache in places I had forgotten I owned.(We have four now where there were only two before). But I was on the boat!!
The Monitor windvane selfsteering has just been fitted, the generator is installed and ready for its first start-up. The watermaker is due very soon. I have today collected the restored genoa, the boat is going to be measured for our new genoa tomorrow, there is just the new mainsheet track, the lift raft mountings, and the insulated back stay to be completed. Chris the rigger from Chi Marina I made contact with yesterday. By backing into him /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Excuse:-There was (was/were, choose what sounds right to you) a crowd of children walking past the yard, and I was watching where they were going. But Chris had parked right behind me, and when I reversed (very gently) I touched the front of his car. No damage to him, not much to me.And PLEASE, no comments about women drivers.
But I gave him the back stay to take away, although he says it mightent be ready until April!
Anyway, the point of this is that I am very gradually getting excited, as opposed to drowning under the amount of preparation still to do.
Roll on the spring.
