for us, our new- to- us Khamsin gets launched, which we are very excited about, so we hope to get out for a few test spins, out of Lymington. Given it took us a while to get used to the steep banking in the Ghibli, wifey might need some vino to calm her nerves afterwards given the power in this one.
So, enough of this red diesel gloom; who is out there for some powerboating fun, come Easter?

Boat re-upholstery nearly complete. Plan over the Easter is to clean the whole thing inside out (inside pretty clean, just cockpit etc), a good compound and polish and then hit the water!

The boat should be in the shed having her spotty bottom fixed, so if the yard won't let me in on my own to start on her decks; its off to see SWMBO's dysfunctional family in Cornwall.

My sister and her tribe are borrowing my flat so staying at home is not an option.

OK, I'm trying to be positive.

If all goes to plan a week in the shed to do some final painting/varnishing and re-bedding of windows then launching. A 60th birthday party (the boat's not mine) will be held in early May.

Hopefully getting the boat back into the water during the Easter week, then spend the following week(good weather) sailing slowly round Mull, or (bad weather) up to Kinlochleven ( want to try the seafood restaurant) and back to Loch Sunart

We live in hope

Are you sure you meant to post on this forum Gavin, and not on MoBo chat?
What you are proposing sounds too exciting for here - make sure Helle is strapped in /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
I'll be at the bottom of the garden hoping to put a new water toy into operation by using the contents of the hire boats as targets.
Will hopefully have had a few days in Devon prior to this thereby avoiding the invasion of the "Henrys" down there over Easter week.

Club rally down the Solent to Yarmouth, then on to Poole Yacht Club via Christchurch, back to Lymington for dinner in Nick's Nosherie, returning Chi Easter Monday.
Just organise decent weather for us please.

Hoping to get the boat of the water soon so can do a few jobs on her over Easter Weekend - before relaunching for two weeks sail upto Scotland at 'Easter' (school holidays in April as SWMBO is a teacher!) - this should be the final shakedown cruise for us before we cast off for 15 months aboard! Been a long winter refitting (just got back from wiring up a solar panel and VHF aerial - BNC connectors very fiddly to solder! - and couldn't test the solar panel as dark /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif )

Oldgit and myself will be voyaging to St Katherines with Fred in economy mode, I think its springs then so we may make reasonable progress even if he cannot force the throttles past their natural position of just in gear.

All looking good for 4 days of sailing - if weather bad then will stay on boat and maybe go walking, play games and read this years almanac to come up with rough plan for summer hols.

I am going to try and perform miracles and get the boat back into the water. I have 53 tasks to perform before it happens and i have done 3. It is competing with my final university year projects and exams. It is slightly winning

Guess where i will be this weekend!!

May also get a bit of racing during the easter holidays.

Good luck to all during the period and many hours of happy sailing too!

If the weather's nice then it's a bit of bilge grovelling to get the exhaust rebuilt, repack the stern gland, reseat a seacock, scrub the hull ready for antifouling, and that's probably enough for the boat, I've got me taties to plant as well.

Blatting around the Solent in my new toy
