I have a Feeling 1090 on which the rigging requires renewing.
What does the forum think I will pay for this.
The boat has a fore shroud, aft shroud, mid shroud, top shroud and fore and aft stays. (sorry if the description is wrong)
I would require the contractor to remove all(plus furling gear),
and replace.
Thanks in advance. !

The bigger question is the size of the wire. My rigging is 4 and 5mm and came in at under £370.00. This was taking the old in and fitting the new myself. The rigger did arrive at the yard to fit a staylock on the forestay, quite useful as he also took the time to show me how to fit staylocks. I did not change my turnbuckles as they are in good condition.

When I called the yard I was convinced I had 6mm rigging which added nearly half again to the price. So I was quite lucky when I turned up with a boot full of wire and a new estimate was made.

Best bet is to call around locally and chat to riggers. Do you want to fit yourself? I was able to help make my rigging in the shed and added to a couple of lengths where I knew they were a little short due to new turnbuckles when fitting out etc.

Incidentally, my rigging comprises of forstay, twin aft and sides in 5mm. Then from the xtrees 4mm triangle baby stays. 30ft mast on 2ft coachroof.

Hope this gives some idea. Add maybe £15.00 per stay if you intend to renew turnbuckles, ouch!

Its one job I would do myself next time. for my 12m boat it was over £2K and even the riggers got some of the lengths wrong and had to re cut them on the boat.
Since then I've spoken to many people who for the cost of a very good wire cutter have done it themselves one wire at a time(rig up) bolt together end fittings (not swaged)
You'll save a lot of money, but you will also be inspecting your rig in detail. And you'll be able to carry some spares and know how they are fitted. (its not rocket science)
There are also different qualities of wire rigging available, some we had rusted quite badly. Maybe get a quote from Ormiston Wire Limited theirs is all to traceable standards. 02085697287. They'll be able to tell you a lot more than this forum I would guess.

Get in touch with these people. I sent my old shrouds, they matched the length. Here's the order for a Cobra 750 (25'):

2 x Cap shrouds Please replace these with 5mm 1x19 wire
4 x Lower shrouds Please replace these with 5mm 1x19 wire
1 x Backstay Please replace this with 6mm 1x19 wire
1 x Forestay (not sent to you) 10m of 6mm 1x19 wire with a swaged eye at one end and Sta-Lock swageless eye, loose, with spare internal components for me to fit at the other.
1 x SPARE FORESTAY 10m of 6mm 1x19 wire with swaged eye at one end and one forked turnbuckle with a Sta-lock stud, for me to fit, to suit turnbuckle.
24 x s/s split-pins as per attached.

I kept my own turnbuckles.
Cost was £337 inc. pp&p & VAT

I bought the Sta-lock fittings and asked Stora to make up the shrouds. It also cost in the region of £2K. Sta-lock are more expensive than swaged but I trust them more. I did not fit the sta-lock myself although you can if you want.
I also kept all of my old wire and fittings just in case one of the new ones part.
