I have just purchased a loos rigging tension gauge, which is fairly easy to use. But as it is an american company the literature with it is not very usefull. The gauge reads in Kgs what I need to know is what the breaking strain of 6mm rigging wire is to be able to work out what the max tension of 25% is ???
Also what tension should the cap shrouds be set at, this is for a fractionaly rigged Hallberg Rassy 29. Any help much appreciated.

6mm 1/19 ss wire typical breaking strain 3200Kg.

Cap tension 15% of brealing strain unless you wish to prebend mast a bit more then up to 20% .

Also a 2 meter length of 1/19 wire will elongate by 3mm at 15% of breaking load.

Max backstay tension 30% breaking strain.

Hope that info is enough for you.
