Am attempting to remove the lower shrouds on a friends sun odyssey. The fitting on the mast is new one to me - hence looking for advice. The wire is terminated in a ball fitting which sits inside a cup on the mast. The cup is stainless steel and fits into the mast. 10mm above the fitting is a rivet. I'm thinking that this rivet needs to be drilled out and the fitting will slide up in the mast and then out - can anyone confirm or deny?

Telephone Ian Scott of Clarke and Carter on 01621 785600. He is the Commissioning Manager for Jeanneau on the East Coast Uk, and v knowledgeable( and vv friendly)

PS, they changed from Z Spars to Selden in 2006.

If not then try the Jeanneau Owners Site, they have a forum

Thanks for the info Jim. Couldnt get hold of Ian so did some head scratching and went ahead with drilling it out anyway - bit of an odd system but removing the rivet allowed the fitting in the mast to be twisted and released. Now we can try and find out why the bottle screws have seized.
