Rigging Decision time

Just got the quote from the rigger. For my 40 foot heavy(ish) cruiser it would cost me an extra $800 US to use Dyform wire. I don't race. I think I will keep this boat until I swallow the anchor which I hope is at least 10 years hence. Is it worth it???? and why?

Plain old 19 strand is reckoned to be good for 10 years on a cruisy boat, so maybe there's something better to spend 800 bucks on?

You will gain almost nothing given your boat and type of sailing. Put the money to a better set of sails or something

When some of us are still bumbling around with 6mm galvanised wire rope got for free, certainly not worth what you are being asked.
Better to go for something cheaper and plan to replace earlier. Use your drinking vouchers for what they are intended for.
