Riggers advice needed

I need some information on the possible options what to do with:

A mast which has a compression dent (incl. small crack) under the lower spreader?

I am not a rigger, and I suspect someone will need to visit to ensure the size, exact position and problem is correctly known.

In general, you can sleeve a mast (pop-rivet an alluminium tube onto the outside or inside). Shouldn't be a problem - although I suspect the spreader will need to be removed, the sleeve added, and the spreader replaced to ensure the strength is still in place.

The sleeve adds weight, and changes bend characteristics - not too much of a problem when cruising, but not always suitable for racing people.
