just a quick question removed a Stuart turner engine and replaced with a lister petter had to remove the engine skid and notch out one or two ribs.
grp boat sandwich plywood . the ribs are pine covered with fiberglass. the pine is soaking wet where ever you look. is it the glass fiber that gives it its integraty
the boat is in great condition. thank you. garry.

Probably safe enough but if the boat is waterlogged it will be a lot heavier than it should be.

sounds like a displacement boat so weight shouldn't be an issue in theor the timber could rot away totally & the fibreglass should still be strong manyboats are bult with foam cores to the ribs which have no structural strength & are just there as formers for the glass whch des give the strength
