Hi All,

A friend and I have just bagged a dirt cheap rib for blatting about the bay on days when we dont want to take the big boats out!

However the tubes have seen better days having not only been painted black but they have a few patches and deflate after a few days....

Now is this a crazy question..........................................

Can I inject them with expanding foam i.e. the stuff that builders use?

The cost of new tubes or expensive repairs will totally outweigh the "bargain" we have bought....

Cheers
Rob

If you did that I would think that when it goes hard all will look good but when you sit on it the shape of your bum may remain!!!

I have painted and repaired tubes. This stuff is the pups

I found it melted and reactivated the older paint after rubbing off the flakey stuff. As for tube repairs have a look on ribs.net. Loads of stuff and its pretty straight forward to be honest.

You need to be sure of your tube material though to get the right stuff.
