I have a 2.8m RIB which need a seat, and do not wish to fork out hundreds for a 'new Avon' seat.
Plan is to cut a solid timber 6" x 1" plank to length, pencil round the edges and paint it.
The question is how to attach it.
The RIB has a flat (+/-6" long) strap attached on each hull tube.
Suggestions please on how to make a '<'type bracket and attach it to the 'plank' seat.
Considerations: material to not cut hull tubes; seat to be removable.
I'm contemplating using a thick walled section of uPVC 2"ø pipe cutting out part of the wall, then screwing it to the underside of the 'plank' seat.
Other suggestions?
