Rib re tubing - costs query

got to love a random freebie...

Someone locally wants shot of a rib hull cheap cheap aparently its all there but requires re tubing....

All i know is its a 5M Rib.

what would i be looking at to put this back in the water as a flaoting boat - I already have an outboard i could use

From experience, it cant be done in any way that makes financial sense. Beer mat maths says 5k (3k tubes, 1k trailer, 1k sundries - steering, gauges, throttle etc etc).

Depending on the engine, its not going to be worth more than 5k finished.

There is a reason people end up giving boats like this away :rolleyes:

I don't know much about the finances of RIBs, but this sounds believable. What you have there is not actually a boat, not even a boat that needs a lot of work doing. It is just one component of a boat, the GRP moulding - like a spare part. You wouldn't start with a keel, or a mast, and talk about repairing a yacht.
