Rhymes with \'wee chopper\'

At the boat show, I ordered a neat looking folding dinghy. I paid the guy £200 deposit, and he said it would be ready in 'about 6 weeks'.

After 3 months, he took the rest of the money, and said we could expect the boat in a couple of weeks. It didn't arrive in time for our easter trip, as promised, but, to his credit, he said he'd send us a second hand one for our holiday. However, the courier screwed up and it never got to us. Nice gesture though.

Time passes and now 6 months after ordering, I'm still waiting, and being told 2 weeks.

What do I do? Do I try to get the money back on the grounds the delay has been unreasonable. The company has, I've heard, been thrown out of the BMIF because of a large number of complaints, so I'm thinking softly softly, in case they go under and I'm left with no boat, and no money.

I also waited a long time for mine(several months) but it did come in the end & very good it is.He takes too many orders at boat shows & struggles to deliver. He has been in business many years & has always been the same( so I understand)

From other reply it appears the person is genuine but struggles to deliver. He probably works on the basis of a quiet life and delivers to those that make the most noise.

Contact him and say you are getting worried, when will the boat be delivered, you need to a firm date as you have expressed concerns to your local Police and they have told you to get a firm delivery date and if its not delivered they will initiate a Fraud investigation.
