Is there anyone here who has used this to recaulk a teak deck. Am interested to know if its any good as I was under the impression that the 2 part polysulphides were the thing to use. Thanks
The blurb on their site says -
Description
RHODORSIL SEA LINE 100 is a neutral (alcoxy-type) one
component, odorless silicone elastomer, which is ready to use, and
designed for caulking decks and flexible bonding applications
requiring high mechanical properties.
It cures at room temperature and in the presence of air moisture, to
form a strong, flexible seal.
Silicone's chemistry is based on silicium. This mineral heritage
explains why silicone sealants are so good at withstanding severe
conditions such as prolonged exposure to UV's heat and cold, etc.
Particular Properties
RHODORSIL SEA LINE 100 provides outstanding, primerless
adhesion to teak and to all porous or fibrous surfaces.
It adheres to itself and to most surfaces used in marine construction :
polyester gel coat, stainless steel, rough and anodized aluminum,
metals, polycarbonates, painted surfaces (polyester, polyurethane
etc. paint), varnish and all other varnished surfaces, etc.
RHODORSIL SEA LINE 100 quickly polymerizes to form a seal that
can be sanded after at least 24 hours polymerization with equipment
that is normally used for wood. See deck caulking application
datasheet.
RHODORSIL SEA LINE 100 has a high modulus and outstanding
elasticity, as well as perfect resistance to UV : see table below.
<hr width=100% size=1>
