We are planning 2012 and 2013 in some combination of Holland and France inland cruising.
We shall start in Holland 2012 but looking at inland charts,there seems to be quite a straight forward route south via the Rhine and Moselle, then back West from Challone sur Soane and Paris and back to UK along the coast.
I wish to avoid Belgium because of their current officious view on Red Diesel in GB boats, although the impact of that after a summer cruising in Holland should be minimised. I do not need the hassle.
My initial thought was to take the coastal route south and then up the Seine to Paris and then SE to Challone, but would then mean retracing the route for the return to GB for winter 2013.
The circular route is more appealing.
Boat is Broom 38 with 2 x 250hp Yanmars and I am an experienced offshore and inland cruising person aware of the pitfalls of commercial traffic and currents on the Rhine and probably the Moselle. It might be nice to pop in on Switzerland on the way!
Anyone with 1st hand knowledge of this route?
