I have just had a new Penta D1-20F with saildrive, plus new Flexofold prop, fitted to my HR 29. The max revs I get is just shy of 2,700 while the rev range stated by Volvo should be 2,800-3,200. The engine pushes the boat along nicely, e.g. 6.4 knots @ 2,000 rpm on a flat sea and 5.4 knots @ 2000 rpm against 22 knots of wind and a bit of a chop. The yard guys are going to check to see if they can tweak the engine beyond the minimum. Changing the prop is no problem, but a real pain. Should I bother?
