Can anyone advise me of what to look at, or change. When I start the engine the rev counter stays stuck on no revs, only when the engine has been running for a little while will it pick up and indicate the revs correctly. This was not happening last year, its a standard Bukh installation as far as I can tell.
All advice gratefully received.

"Driven" from the W terminal of the alternator I believe.

Check connections at alternator in wiring loom and at instrument. Check power supply to instrument.

Are you sure the alternator is charging during the period that the tacho is not reading ? Or is there perhaps a problem with the alternator. You might check the W terminal for an (AC) output

Thanks for your reply, it seems that I need to go over the wiring and check the alternator output. Time to get to understand how the alternator and charging system is working it seems.
